Age & ID Requirements

For all piercing services and surface piercing removals provided at Rockstar Piercing (not including standard jewelry changes/removals), you MUST be 18 years old or older and have a valid NON-expired, NON-damaged government issued photo ID. We accept:

  • State ID cards

  • Passports

  • Divers Licenses

  • Military IDs

We CANNOT accept paper temporary IDs as a valid ID for piercing services, unless the expired hard copy is provided with it.

Piercings for Minors

Providence Location:

We can perform piercings on children 15 years and older when accompanied by their biological Mother, Father, or legal guardian and their ID.

Jamaica Plain Location:

We can perform piercings on children 14 years and older (15 years and older for Navel piercings) when accompanied by their biological Mother, Father, or Legal Guardian and their ID along with minor’s birth certificate or court ordered Guardianship paperwork with birth certificate.

We DO NOT perform surface piercings, surface anchors, genital or nipple piercings on minors under any circumstances.

Children’s Ear Lobe Piercings

We offer ear lobe piercings for children as young as 5 years old. We require the child to be old enough to communicate with the piercer and consent to wanting the piercings done. Child must be accompanied by their biological Mom, Dad, or Legal Guardian. Mom or Dad must have their valid, non-expired government issued photo ID (as well as birth certificate in Jamaica Plain.) We are not able to accept images of the birth certificate, we will need the hard copy present and the government seal must be visible.

NOTE: Our studio should be treated by children and their parents as a museum-like environment. Please keep a close eye on young children! Free standing display cabinets hold expensive and in some cases one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry that can easily be damaged. The artwork displayed in the studio is mature and features piercing related subject matter, suspension, and subtle nudity.
