PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
All permanent cosmetics use the process of inserting pigment into the dermal layer of the skin and is a form of tattooing. All instruments that enter the skin or come in contact with body fluids are disposable and disposed of after use. Health department regulations are STRICTLY adhered to. As with any tattoo procedure this is always a risk of infection, though it is highly unlikely. After care instructions must be followed very carefully to lessen the risk of infection.
Generally, the results are excellent. However, a perfect result is not a realistic expectation. Uneven pigmentation is possible and this can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding or many other causes. Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry but our faces are not symmetrical so adjustments may be needed during the follow up session to correct any uneven appearance/ pigment.
Some clients may experience excessive swelling or bruising. Ice packs may help and the bruising and swelling typically disappears with 1-5 days.
A 6-8 week touch up is necessary and will ensure optimal results. Initially the color will appear much more vibrant/ darker compared to the end result. Once completely healed the color will fade about 25%, soften and look more natural. Cosmetic Tattooing is semi-permanent procedure and will fade over time and will likely need to be touched-up annually depending on the service and the client skin type. Please note that color may fade faster on oily skin or skin with large pores.
There can be pain even after the topical anesthetic has been used. Anesthetics work better on some people than others. If you are allergic to any anesthetics please inform your specialist prior to your appointment.
Allergic reaction to pigments is possible. Ink is made up of numerous ingredients and everyone has different reactions to those ingredients. If you are concerned ask your specialist for a list of ingredients used in their ink brand and contact your Dermatologist to see if anything is likely to cause allergic reaction.
If you are prone to developing keloids -- scars that grow beyond normal boundaries -- you are at risk of keloid formation from a tattoo. Keloids may form any time you injure or traumatize your skin. If you have ever had anything like this, it is best to avoid permanent cosmetics.
MRI: Because pigments used in permanent cosmetic procedure contains inert oxides, a low level magnet may be required, if you need to be scanned by an MRI machine. You must inform your technician of any tattoos or permanent cosmetics.
If you are prone to cold sores or fever blisters, (herpes simplex), there is a high probability that you will get them during and after a Lip Blush procedure. It is advised that you call your doctor at least 1 week prior to your appointment for a prescription antiviral to help prevent this from occurring.
